Herd Health Surveyshomesub_image6_deerlookingback.jpg

When it comes to knowing you deer herd, there is little you can do during hunting season to determine when the peak of the rut is on your property.  Are you interested in finding out?  Have you ever wondered what the reproductive success or overall condition of your herd is on an annual basis?  By completing a herd health survey on your property we can answer all of these questions.

By harvesting does during the early spring and collecting fetal samples, we can derive detailed information on when the does on your property were bred, when the does will conceive, age of the deer and the overall body condition of that animal.  This information will provide detailed dates on the peak of the rut in your location.

If growing trophy bucks is your goal, then you must manage for an overall quality deer herd.  Health surveys provide us with the information to track the progress of the management taking place on your property.  There's little you can do in deer management that will tell you more about your deer herd than a Herd Health Survey.  We will work directly with your state agency to provide the proper permits and documentation in order to proceed with these collections.  These surveys will allow us to make detailed recommendations based off of the reproductive success and overall condition of the deer living on your property.
